Waterfowl keeping and breeding is not an easy undertaking, but something our club members whole heartedly embrace. We are very proud and honoured that some of the state's best water fowl breeders are members of our club. And look forward to the future waterfowl being enhanced by our club breeders.

Lockyer valley feather club believes juniors are the future of the poultry keeping hobby and without them our passion will become a thing of the past. In 2016 the club implemented a junior judge mentor-ship program which the kids took to like a duck to water. The children that participated last year came away with so much renewed enthusiasm not only for their own breeding programs but also now wanting to learn the technical side of judging, and thanks to our mentor judge Bernice Jannusch for her time and patience, hopefully we now have some future poultry judges in the making. We are looking forward to more juniors participating this year.

Our Waterfowl and Junior Judge Show in May will also feature Bantam breeds and Mediterranean breeds, such as Minorca, Spanish, etc.
